IIASA Deputy Director joins Austrian presidential delegation to Argentina

From 2 to 5 December, IIASA Deputy Director Nebojsa Nakicenovic is traveling with the official Austrian delegation of the Federal President Dr. Heinz Fischer during his travels to the Argentine Republic.

During the trip, delegates from business, science, and arts will participate in bilateral science and cultural forums.  Nakicenovic will join, among others, Dr. Meinhard Rauchensteiner, Austrian Presidential Advisor for Science, Arts and Culture; Dr. Friedrich Faulhammer, Secretary General of the Austrian Federal Ministry for Science and Research; Héctor Macros Timerman, Argentine Minister of Foreign Relations; and  the Argentine Minister of Science, Technology and Innovative Production, Lino Barañao, to discuss and explore cooperation between the two respective countries. 

A highlight of the official visit is the Science Forum which takes place on 4 December, which will include speeches, followed by the signing of a bilateral scientific development program. The forum is culminated by round-table discussions between the Austrian and Argentine scientific and cultural delegations.
