Eduroam - Educational network Internet Roaming Access
Eduroam is a consortium of international institutions within the educational and research community providing free access to each other's secured wireless networks by logging in with a user's home institution login and password.
Eduroam Instructions for IIASA Windows XP
- In the Control Panel, open Network Connections.
- Right-click Wireless Network Connection and choose Properties.
- In the Properties window, click the Wireless Networks tab.
- Double-click eduroam on the list of available networks.
- Set Network Authentication to WPA.
- Set Data encryption to TKIP.
- Go to the Authentication tab and set the EAP type to Protected EAP (PEAP) and then click the Properties button.
- In the Protected EAP Properties window, uncheck Validate server certificate, make sure the Authentication Method is set to Secured password (EAP-MSCHAPv2) and click on the Configure button.
- Uncheck the Automatically use my Windows logon ... and click OK repeatedly until you get back to eduroam Properties.
- Go to the Connection tab and check the box Connect when this network is in range.
