Hongtao Ren joined the IME project in April 2007 as a research scholar to develop diverse Web-based applications for the integrated modeling environment.
Dr. Ren received his bachelor's degree (1999) in industrial engineering and master's degree (2004) in systems engineering, both from the Dalian University of Technology, China. He received his PhD (2007) in knowledge science from the Japan Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (JAIST).
In 2004 he received the Monbukagakusho scholarship offered by the Japanese Government and joined the Knowledge School of JAIST, where he has been participating in various activities of the Center of Excellence at JAIST, and in particular has developed Creative Environments for supporting scientific research.
His scientific interests include integrated modeling environment, computerized support for knowledge creation, integrated system for scientific creativities, knowledge engineering, semantic web, and text mining.
