Shilpa Rao-Skirbekk

Shilpa Rao holds a degree in electrical engineering (B.E.) from India followed by a M.S. in energy, environmental and mineral economics from Pennsylvania State University, USA. Prior to joining IIASA, she was a consultant at the World Bank, where her work involved analyzing the U.S. sulfur-dioxide permit trading program. Ms. Rao also worked as a Research Assistant at the Indian Institute of Management, Ahmedabad, India. Since joining the Environmentally Compatible Energy Strategies Program in 2002, she has mainly been involved with developing multi greenhouse gas scenarios. Her research interests include energy-economic modeling, energy-environment linkages and policies, technology assessment, and adoption in energy systems.
