Mariana Império is a Doctoral Research Assistant with the Energy (ENE) Program at IIASA, as a part of her PhD in Energy Planning at COPPE/UFRJ. She is funded by CAPES, a Brazilian Foundation for supporting researchers.
Ms. Império's thesis focuses on the integration of a simple climate model into an integrated global energy system. Her research interests include climate change, mitigation options, energy planning and energy modeling. She holds an MSc degree in Energy Planning from COPPE/UFRJ.
Prior to coming to IIASA, Ms. Império was a researcher with the CENERGIA group, working with forecasts for oil and gas production in Brazil, and proposing mitigation measures and public policies for the Brazilian energy sector.
