Janusz Granat
Janusz Granat first came to IIASA in the summer of 1989 to work on multi-criteria decision analysis. He has visited IIASA several times since then. He contributed to the development of the decision support system of the DIDAS family and to solving various multi-criteria decision analysis problems at IIASA. He returned to the Institute in January 2006 to join the Integrated Modeling Environment Project and is currently working with IIASA's Advanced Systems Analysis (ASA) Program where he is contributing to the Enrima Project.
Dr. Granat received his PhD (1997) in computer science and his MSc in control engineering from the Technical University of Warsaw. He gives lectures on decision support systems and management information systems at the Warsaw University of Technology. He is the leader of the Division of Advanced Information Technology at the National Institute of Telecommunications.
His scientific interests include theory of multi-criteria optimization, modeling, decision support systems, and data mining. He has been involved in various industrial and scientific projects, e.g., parallel computation, data warehousing and decision support systems for the telecommunication industry, and building data mining models for marketing departments.
