IIASA Alumnus Exploratory and Special Projects
Karen Everett joined the Arctic Futures Initiative as a Research Scholar in July 2018 to work on an Arctic policy and governance research project. She completed her PhD from Trent University (Canada), where she studied border management in the Canadian North. Dr. Everett is also interested in broader issues of Arctic trade, regional governance, and the role of stakeholders in Arctic policy development.
Previously, Dr. Everett coordinated an online community that brought together subject matter experts and the public to discuss a range of political and social topics that were of importance to Canada.
She is also a Fellow at the Polar Research and Policy Initiative and a member of the UArctic Thematic Network on Geopolitics and Security.
