Young-Hwan Ahn is an energy and environmental economist. He joined the Mitigation of Air Pollution and Greenhouse Gases (MAG) Program in June 2011.
Dr. Ahn received his PhD from the Korea Advanced Institute of Science and Technology (KAIST) Business School in 2002. He has been a consultant in the private sector at the Eco-Frontier Co. in Seoul, Korea (2002-2004), a visiting researcher at INSEAD, France (2005), and a research fellow at the Korea Energy Economics Institute (2006-2010). Before joining IIASA, he worked as a team leader to analyze GHG mitigation potentials of Korea at the Greenhouse Gas Inventory and Research Center of Korea (GIR) in Seoul, Korea (2010-2011).
His research interests include energy-economic modeling, greenhouse gas mitigation policies, and the long-term patterns of technological change.
