Thank you for your interest in postdoctoral research at IIASA. Online applications are now being accepted for the 2012 program. Please note the closing date is February 29, 2012 - applications received after the deadline can unfortunately not be considered.
Every year postdoctoral scholarships are available for research on topics related to the IIASA research agenda.

Research Proposal & Pre-discussions
Communication with relevant program representatives is strongly encouraged at the earliest possible stage, and before submitting an application.
This level of personal interaction is vital not only to discuss research ideas and ascertain their relevance to IIASA’s scientific agenda but it also allows much more realistic formulation of research plans and expectations on the part of both IIASA and the applicant. An introductory e-mail is preferred as a means of first contact.
Candidates are required to develop and submit a research proposal that interfaces their own research interests with the research agenda of one of the various activities pursued at IIASA. Please note that only after reviewing your outlined draft proposal can the programs properly judge whether the research proposal fits their expertise and comment on the formulated question/problem.

1) Form
Please download and save the empty Adobe PDF application form on your computer from: http://www.iiasa.ac.at/pdocs/applic/application.pdf
ATTENTION: to save the application form locally, you need to right click with your mouse on the above link and then select "save link as".
2) Material
Complete (and save) your copy of the PDF application form as well as prepare any accompanying material including copies of two most recent publications.
3) Submission
You may submit the completed application (and any additional material) via the upload web link: http://www.iiasa.ac.at/pdocs/applic/upload
Please note the closing date: February 29, 2012 (24:00 CET).
Reference Letters
Two letters of reference should be provided before the application deadline on February 29, 2012. The applicants are responsible for asking the reference givers and to upload the letters in PDF format using the same upload link as above

- An automatically generated Email will be sent to you, specifying a personalized link with which you will able to upload your application information.

Selection
The awards, which are of up to 2 years' duration, are the result of a competitive process and carry special recognition both within and outside the Institute.
All candidates will be informed on the outcome of their application around May 2012.
