Short biography: Dr. Linda Yueh is a fellow in economics at the University of Oxford. She is a visiting professor at the Economics Department of the London Business School and had previously taught in the Economics Department at the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). Dr. Yueh holds appointments at the Centre for Economic Performance at LSE, and Queen Elizabeth House at the University of Oxford. She practiced international corporate law while resident in New York, Beijing and Hong Kong prior to entering academia. Her research interests are in macroeconomics, economic growth and development, economic transition, and law and economics. She has published numerous articles on topics such as the impact of globalisation on economic growth, the prospects of the Chinese economy, labour markets, and trade integration. She serves as (Founding) Editor of the Economic Development and Growth book series by World Scientific Publishing. She has recently published an edited volume, Globalisation and Economic Growth in China, and a textbook, Macroeconomics. She has served as a special advisor to the World Economic Forum in Davos, UK Trade and Industry (UKTI), and recently gave testimony on the impact of China on the UK and global economy to the UK House of Commons Treasury Select Committee and Foreign Affairs Committee as well provided briefings for 10 Downing Street, the UK Cabinet Office, FCO Board, HM Treasury, Department for Trade and Industry (DTI), Department for International Development (DFID), Overseas Development Institute (ODI) and others. Internationally, she has addressed UNIDO, the Caribbean Development Bank, China’s State Environmental Protection Agency (SEPA), among others. Finally, she is a frequent media commentator, including for the BBC, CNBC, CNN, and the Financial Times.
