Christopher Doll joined the crosscutting Greenhouse Gas Initiative as one of the 2007 IIASA postdocs.His primary research interests focus on the production of socio-economic datasets from night-time light satellite imagery and how they can be combined with other data to help answer fundamental questions concerning sustainable development and the human dimensions of global change. He is hosted at TNT where they share a mutual interest in downscaling of socio-economic parameters.
Dr. Doll was born and raised in the United Kingdom and holds a B.Sc. in geography and mathematics from Royal Holloway and M.Sc. and Ph.D degrees in remote sensing from University College London. Prior to joining IIASA, Dr. Doll was an Earth Institute Fellow at Columbia University (CIESIN) in New York, which provided a useful foundation for interdisciplinary scientific research.
