"Strategies of Regional Development in China"
Organizers:

International Institute for Applied Systems Analysis (IIASA)
Sustainable Rural Development (SRD) Research

Vienna University, Institute for East-Asian Studies,
Department of Chinese Studies

This workshop brought together researchers from a wide range of disciplines to generate new ideas and suggestions on how to accelerate sustainable development in China's lagging (rural) regions. It also helped us to sharpen research concepts for a new IIASA research program on Sustainable Regional Development, which was proposed for the period 2006-2010.
