The author of RAPS-China, Gerhard K.
Heilig, is deeply grateful to several colleagues whose comments and
suggestions helped him to design and develop the RAPS
software or gave support in the preparation of the database and default
indicators. In
particular, Dr. Ming Zhang greatly contributed to
the preparation of the RAPS database and the calculation of the default
regional development indicators. Ms. Wenyan Chen translated numerous table headers and data definitions
from the original statistical reports. Prof. Fan Jie,
from the Chinese Academy of Sciences, provided highly valuable feedback
concerning the development of the RAPS default indicators. The author
also
benefited from the participation in several conferences and meetings,
particularly the Symposium on "The Frontier Problems of Human Geography"
organized by the National Natural Science Foundation (NSFC) at Nanjing
University, and the "International Symposium on Environmental Protection
and Sustainable Development in West China" in Xi’an. Colleagues at the
Research Center for Eco-environmental Sciences (CAS), and the Institute
of Geographic Sciences and Natural Resources Research (CAS) have also
provided valuable comments and suggestions. |
