For a single variable you
would produce a map in the same way as for an index. Essentially, the
mapping of a single variable is equivalent to the mapping of a
one-variable index. Of course, in many cases, you would use the map
visualization as a tool to decide, whether the variable would be
interesting to be included in an index. With a few clicks of you mouse
you can see the spatial distribution in the values of more than 300
included
