Can I combine the indices into a composite index?

Yes, you can combine up to 6 individual indices (calculated from up to 99 different variables) into one composite index. For instance, you may want to combine various specialized development indices into a general development index. This can be easily done by specifying weights for the individual indices. Depending on your theoretical concept or planning need you may, for instance, give higher weight to the human development component or the natural resource component of a composite general development index.
