The TMR GrantA limited number of grants to facilitate participation of young researchers (under 35) from EU countries (and from countries associated with the Fourth Framework Program) was available.
Presentations
by Young Researchers
The final
day of the conference (July 9) was devoted to presentations by students
and young scientists. These young persons represented the EC
TMR Program, the IIASA
Young Scientists Summer Program and the young scientists program of
Japan's Institute
for Disaster Prevention at Kyoto University. A few participants from
other post graduate research programs were also involved. This final day
gave young persons an opportunity to present their research and receive
feedback from experienced scientists, industry persons and policy makers.
The quality of the papers was impressive, and the presentations resulted
in significant insights into new research perspectives.
