Organization and Support

This EuroConference was the second in a series of two conferences. The first conference on Global Change and Catastrophe Risk Management: Flood Risks in Europe was held at IIASA, June 6-9, 1999. Papers from that conference can be found at the conference site.

This second EuroConference was organized by Joanne Linnerooth-Bayer, who is leader of the IIASA project on Risk, Modeling and Society, and Aniello Amendola, who is visiting IIASA from the EC-JRC, Ispra, Italy. They were supported by a Scientific Advisory Board.

The Institute for Disaster Prevention (DPRI), Kyoto University, Japan, sponsored Japanese participation in the frame of a collaborative agreement with IIASA.

This conference had additional support from the Oesterreichische Forschungsgemeinschaft in Vienna, Austria, and The Swedish Council for Planning and Coordination of Research (FRN), Stockholm, Sweden.
