Curriculum Vitae

Nadejda Komendantova joined the Risk, Policy and Vulnerability Program as a Research Scholar in April 2008. Dr. Komendantova holds a PhD degree in environment economics from the State University of Engineering and Economics of Saint-Petersburg; Russia, a post-graduate degree from the Diplomatic Academy of Vienna and MA of economics and sociology from the State University of Saint-Petersburg.

Prior to joining IIASA, Dr. Komendantova worked as a consultant at the United Nations Industrial Development Organisation and at the research institute IIBW, Austria where her work resulted in 9 published studies on sustainable development and energy efficiency in developing and transition economies and organisation of several conferences and workshops.

The field of interests of Dr. Komendantova at IIASA is energy efficiency and economic aspects of climate change.
