I am a senior research scholar at IIASA, where I lead the Decisions and Governance research group within  the program on Risk and Vulnerability. Our work examines why people and organizations make the choices that they do that respond to the challenge of climate change, and how different government policies could influence those choices. We examine two classes of choices: adapting to local impacts of climate change and climate variability, and investing in renewable energy infrastructure. In addition, I am associate editor of the journals Regional Environmental Change and Climate & Development.
