Executive Summaries have been prepared
for all three case study countries. These reports present the major
research findings which are based on detailed computer simulation
models. These models are calibrated on data from the 1990s and test
alternative long-term development paths (to the year 2020) of population,
development and environment interactions. In Botswana and Namibia
the models focus on the demographic and economic impacts of the
HIV/AIDS epidemic, and on consequent future water scarcity. Our
Mozambique discussion centers on HIV/AIDS, education, labor force,
water scarcity, and rural development.
The Executive Summaries are attached as PDF documents.
