1996 Population Projections

In this set of tables, the results are arranged in five-year time intervals (1995-2100) for all 13 regions and all 27 scenarios. The scenarios combine low (L), central (C) and high (H) fertility, life expectancy and migration assumptions. Each scenario is named after the assumptions used in the projection, e.g. scenario HLC combines assumptions of high fertility, low life expectancy (high mortality), and central migration. Results include the population by sex, the mean age of population by sex, the proportion of population aged 60+ by sex, the proportion of population aged 0-14 by sex, the total fertility rate, the life expectancy by sex, the natural growth rate by sex and the annual number of births by sex. The population by sex and by five-year age groups (age 0-100) can be retrieved by downloading the whole result file (2.5 MB).

Total population size by year, sex, and scenario Mean age (in years) by sex, year, and scenario Percentage of population aged 0-14 by sex, year, and scenario Percentage of population aged 60+ by sex, year, and scenario Assumed total fertility rates by year and scenario Assumed life expectancies at birth (in years) by sex, year, and scenario Natural growth rates (in percentage) by sex, year, and scenario Annual number of births by sex, year, and scenario
