FOREST
- Forest State Account
The FSA data tables
in the database are named according to the template of a PREFIX_BASE_SUFFIX,
where the:
- PREFIX denotes
the year of the Forest State Account (FSA93),
- BASE identifies
the content of the table,
- SUFFIX marks the
geographical object to which the data is aggregated (E = ecological
region).
The GIS linkage to
the forest enterprise coverage containing the matching geographical entity
can be established from all the tables using the geographical object id
columns in source and target tables.
The first row of
each table lists the:
- Table Code (e.g.
FSA100)
- Table Title (e.g.
AREA AND STOCK CHANGE)
- Table Name (e.g.
*_F200_*)
Database Query Notes
Tables F100 and
F200 apply only to FEDERAL FOREST SERVICE LANDS (this is a subset of all
forests)
Table F100 - to
calculate the grand total, you must only select the "forest class"
codes 1 and 48.
Table F200 - to
calculate the grand total, you must only select "protection"
codes 1 and 48, and species code 140.
Table FSA93_F301_ECO
applies to all forests and can be used to derive official statistics with
the following queries:
- Forest Fund
= SFL_TOT, ER_ID <12000, INPUT ROW = 99 (divide by 10000 to get Mha)
- Forested Area
= SFL_STCLND, ER_ID <12000, INPUT ROW = 99 (divide by 10000 to get
Mha)
- Forest Fund
= SFL_TOT, ER_ID <12000, INPUT ROW = 99 (divide by 10000 to get Mha)
- Total Growing
Stock = SFL_ST, ER_ID <12000, INPUT ROW = 99 (divide by 10000 to
get Mm3)
Table F302 and
higher apply only to FEDERAL FOREST SERVICE LANDS.
Example Summaries
F100
Total Forest Fund Area = 1,124,831,300 ha
Total Forest Land = 834,720,100 ha
Total Forested Area = 716,108,000 ha
F200
Total Forested Area = 716,107,800 ha
Growing Stock Total = 74,145,860,000 m3
Average Growing Stock = 103.5 m3/ha
All area values
in tables are 10^2 ha, all growing stock values in tables are 10^4 cubic
meters (unless otherwise noted).
