Productivity refers to the capacity of agricultural lands to produce biomass, which is defined through a combination of factors, including solar heat, moisture, soil conditions, input level etc. Potential and achievable levels of productivity can be distinguished. Natural factors determine the potential productivity of agricultural lands, such as: solar radiation, moisture availability, nutrition and water-air soil regimes.
