Note:

Please note that these are survey data based on voluntary replies from questionnaires. Total fertilizer consumption includes the consumption of nitrogenous fertilizers, phosphate fertilizers and potash fertilizers 
With the exception of Belgium / Luxembourg and Germany the intensity of fertilizer consumption (in kg per hectare) increased in all EU(15) countries between 1961-1963 and 1996-1998. The highest increase in the intensity of fertilizer consumption was reported from Ireland, Spain, and Italy, where it grew by more than 200 percent.
