Note:

The European Union as of January 1, 1995 with 15 member states.
These charts show that, depending on the country, between 2% and 20% of the employed people work in agriculture.
As can be expected Germany, the United Kingdom, France, and Italy have the largest number of employed people in the European Union - ranging between some 20 million and about 35.3 million. Italy has the largest number of people employed in agriculture: 1.3 million.
In percentage terms, Greece has by far the largest proportion of employed people in agriculture: 19.8%. By comparison, in the United Kingdom only 1.9% of the employed persons work in the agricultural sector.
