Data had been downloaded on January 21, 2001 from the Web page of the European Commission at http://europa.eu.int/comm/enlargement/agenda2000/impact/annex.html

Note:

The European Union as of January 1, 1995 with 15 member states.
1. Exact compatibility of CEEC Statistical Institutes data with EU standards on statistics and thus the comparability with EU figures can still not be guaranteed. Major changes to these data are still possible.
2. For calculating the per capita GDP data, the populations according to national account definition are used.
3. Purchasing power parity (PPP) exchange rates are commonly used in place of official exchange rates to estimate relative standards of living. They therefore take into account cost differences between countries.
This chart provides two basic agricultural indicators of the current EU member countries and the accession countries in Eastern and Central Europe (CEEC - countries).
Please note that there are significant inconsistencies in the data reported for the CEEC countries. For instance this source gives the percentage of Gross Value Added from Agriculture for Poland at 7.6%. However, in the "2000 Regular Report from the Commission on Poland's Progress Towards Accession" (November 8, 2000) the Gross Value Added from Agriculture was estimated at only 6.9% for 1995.
