Introduction

To provide a broad overview of contemporary speciation research, the programme will organize two large international conferences. These conferences will serve as an inroad into the field of speciation research for young researchers, and enable senior researchers to make connections outside their immediate area of work. The conference will include invited talks by leading figures in the field and contributed talks by participants. We further expect to arrange a poster session with a specific time slot reserved for poster presentation.

Upcoming Activities

Title: Second European Conference on Speciation Research
Date: 2013
Location: To be announced

Summary: FroSpects organized a large international conference that provided a broad overview of contemporary speciation research. The conference served as an inroad into the field of speciation research for young researchers, and enabled senior researchers to make connections outside their immediate area of work. A major focus of the conference was to facilitate bridge-building between disparate approaches to speciation research. We have therefore promoted lectures surveying fields of contemporary speciation research and encouraged contributions and discussion sessions of an integrative nature.
