Duties and Responsibilities
- Assists the Oracle Applications Administrator with the Oracle
system architecture and the processing flow in connection with the
Institute’s Management Information System (MIS).
- Helps with the storage requirements and the storage used by the Oracle
Applications, as well as the Oracle Applications security in cooperation
with the responsible person in IIASA’s Computer Services Department.
- Relieves the Oracle Applications Administrator of such tasks as:
recovery and restoration of Oracle Applications objects;
application of Oracle Applications patches, upgrades and maintenance
of Oracle Applications and tools;
maintenance and monitoring of developed Oracle Applications.
- Develops new applications in connection with the MIS, as well as other
linked databases.
- Introduces users to the Oracle Applications and assists users in solving
Oracle Applications problems.
- Deputizes for the Oracle Applications Administrator during periods
of absence.
Background
and Qualifications
- First-level university degree in computer science or related field
desirable
- Fluency in English

Knowledge of German desirable

Good knowledge of SQL, MS Access, Java, HTML, Javascript, UNIX (Shell),
Windows

Knowledge of relational and object-orientated database systems and database
structures

Experience with Oracle Databases an asset
